Platform Agenda 2030
Report of the Platform Agenda 2030
In mid-July 2018, Switzerland will report to the UN in New York on how it aims to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The 2030 Agenda represents the basis for national and international efforts to tackle global challenges. But the Swiss Federal Council has presented a very patchy report, largely ignoring civil society input.
The civil society Platform Agenda 2030 will present its own report on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda on 3 July 2018. Platform Agenda 2030 is an association of around 40 civil society actors from the fields of development cooperation, environmental protection, gender, peace, sustainable business and trade unions. The aim of the platform is to implement the UN 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals within Switzerland as well as elsewhere.
PeaceWomen Across the Globe is a member of the Platform and is aiming to help ensure the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The 2030 Platform Report contains eleven demands jointly prepared by its members. It also includes content on various Agenda 2030 topics written by Platform Agenda 2030 experts.
The full report, “How sustainable is Switzerland? Implementing the 2030 Agenda from a civil society perspective” is available on the Platform Agenda 2030 website.
In order to be able to observe the implementation of Platform Agenda 2030 critically now and in the future, PWAG is committed to its membership of Platform Agenda 2030.
