PeaceWomen Across the Globe is an organization that aims to strengthen the influence of PeaceWomen in all contexts of peace, security and sustainability – because peace is not simply the absence of war.

We seek to make the daily peace work of women worldwide visible. We are creating a platform where women can network regionally and thematically, share methods and strategies of work and develop common projects. We seek to incorporate women’s expert knowledge into all relevant decision-making and peace building processes.
Through targeted programs we support the work of PeaceWomen on the ground, connect them to networks and help them to develop their abilities. Our exhibition «1000 Peace Women Across the Globe» and numerous publications draw attention to the valuable work of PeaceWomen. Solidarity campaigns for endangered women are launched.
An international board governs the organization PeaceWoman Across the Globe. The international secretariat in Bern (Switzerland) cooperates with a team of around 20 regional coordinators. Six regional offices support the cooperation on the ground.
PeaceWomen Across the Globe is the organization that grew from the initiative «1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize 2005» which succeeded to nominate 1000 women collectivelyfrom all over the world for the Nobel Peace Prize.
