At the end of last year, one of the most violent and protracted conflicts in the world came to an end, with a far-reaching peace agreement between the Colombian government and the FARC guerrilla movement. Women were substantially involved in the preparation of the Peace Treaty.
Thanks to their commitment, key mechanisms that take account of women’s experience of conflict and their demands for a peaceful society were included. This is the only way to achieve lasting peace!
